Giardini di Villa Bricherasio di Saluzzo

Giardini di Villa Bricherasio di Saluzzo

History

The 12,000-square-metre park is the result of the passion and inspiration of Domenico Montevecchi, a Saluzzo fruit-grower who developed this garden over the years, in accordance with his own tastes and preferences. It is divided into three distinct climate zones: Mediterranean, near the villa; cold temperate and continental. The style is "English informal", and walking through the gardens offers views of the landscape and wonderfully bold architectural vegetation.
These are real botanical gardens, with plants from different geographical areas growing together. The garden runs down from the villa to the road and has an eastern exposure. The hill behind protects the garden from winds and creates an especially mild microclimate, allowing the cultivation of species not resistant to frost.
