Castello di Bubbio

Castello di Bubbio

History
Bubbio stands on a rocky terrace overlooking the hills of the lower Bormida Valley, lush green woodland, and orderly rows of highly-prized grapevines. At the heart of the village lies its 14th-century main street, Via Maestra, which creates a unique atmosphere together with the castle, parish church, historic residences and lanes.
Dominated by the old castle tower, the last remaining vestige of the 13th-century manor house rebuilt in neo-mediaeval style in the XIX century, the castle offers accommodation in 12 elegant rooms.
The castle's pride and joy is its park overlooking the River Bormida. A stroll along the gravel paths through this splendid Italian-style garden reveals marvellous secluded spots, including the fountain, the lemon-house, and the perfect chapel for celebrating a fairytale wedding.
The "Castello di Bubbio" hotel is located in the south of Piedmont, between the Langa and Monferrato hills, just a few kilometres from the famous spa town of Acqui Terme and not far from the major tourist centres of Alba and Asti.
